The Indian football team takes on Singapore today in Goa in its first game of the World Cup qualifiers for the 2006 event in Germany. It's a group three tie of the Asian qualifiers with India in the same group as Singpaore, Japan and Oman. Though Singapore is ranked 31 places higher than India in the FIFA rankings, India is likely to fancy its chances especially with East Bengal beating Singapore's top club Geyland United in the AFC Cup last week. However, there is one injury worry for the Indians in the form of captain Biachung Bhutia but he is certain to play.
