London and Valencia: Valencia reached the third round of the UEFA Cup with a resounding 6-1 victory over an outclassed Legia Warsaw on Thursday. The Spanish side advanced 7-2 on aggregate after first-half goals from David Albelda, Adrian Ilie, Miroslav Djukic and a penalty by man-of-the-match Pablo Aimar before Juan Sanchez and Miguel Angel Angulo completed the rout after the interval. Cezary Kucharski pulled one back for the Poles in the 76th minute but it was no consolation as this emphatic victory extended Valencia's impressive unbeaten home run in European matches to 31 games.Chelsea wasted numerous chances and were knocked out of the cup at Stamford Bridge on Thursday, losing 3-1 on aggregate to Hapoel Tel Aviv. The visitors opened the scoring against the run of play - Milan Ostrec scoring in the 36th minute with Hapoel's only shot of the first half. Although the home side would level matters with a second half goal from Gianfranco Zola, the 1-1 draw was not enough to keep the London based side in the competition.Valencia continue their unbeaten runValencia were the favourites against Legia Warsaw. Midfielder David Albelda began the goal spree after 11 minutes when he volleyed home from the edge of the area.And it didn't stop there for the two time Champions league finalists. They scored another 3 goals in the first half.Valencia scored their fifth in the 73rd minute before Legia finally got one back 3 minutes later as Cezary Kucharski slid the ball past the advancing Valencia goalkeeper.Just two minutes later Valencia made it a half dozen after Angulo tapped in past the warsaw goalkeeper. It was an emphatic 6-1 victory for the Spanish side which gave them a 7-2 aggregate and a place in the third round.Chelsea lose to Hapoel Tel AvivChelsea dominated the first 20 minutes. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink who has been in great form this season scoring ten goals in as many matches was in with a couple of great chances, but the striker failed to convert either of them.And then against the run of play it was Hapoel Tel Aviv who took the lead in the 36th minute. Milan Osterc tapped the ball past the advancing Chelsea keeper and sent their red sea of supporters into a frenzy.Chelsea were unlucky not to level the match in the 55th minute. Danish striker Mikael Forsell came close to scoring, but his header was deflected onto a post.The Blues however were finally rewarded in the 64th minute after a lucky deflection for substitute Gianfranco Zola found the back of the net for his first goal of the season.Zola nearly put Chelsea ahead in the 72nd minute, but his shot only found the cross bar as Hapoel held on to for the 1-1 draw and advanced to the third round with a 3-1 aggregate score.
