Pablo Luguercio scored a dramatic winner in the 89th minute and completed Estudiantes of La Plata's rally from a three-goal deficit on Tuesday. This saw Estudiantes beat Sporting Cristal of Peru 4-3 in the Copa Libertadores match. Sporting Cristal led 3-0 by the 38th minute on two goals by Jorge Soto, one a penalty kick, and another by Amilton Prado. But Jose Luis Calderon began Estudiantes' comeback by converting a penalty kick in the 54th minute, and scored another goal nine minutes later. Mariano Pavone equalised in the 78th, setting the stage for Luguercio's dramatics. The victory gave Estudiantes three points and pulled it within a point of Group 2 leaders Independiente Santa Fe and Boliva. The loss was Sporting Cristal's second in as many matches.
