Los Angeles:

Los Angeles Galaxy defender Todd Dunivant has a strained left quadriceps, and the team expects him to be sidelined two to three weeks. The left back, who had been on the US roster for Wednesday's game against Poland before getting hurt, was diagnosed with the injury after an MRI on Tuesday. The injury comes at a critical time for Dunivant, who is trying to earn a berth on the 23-man US World Cup roster. It now seems likely that he will miss the Americans' March 22 game at Germany. The US team then plays Jamaica on April 11 at Cary, North Carolina, the last game before US coach Bruce Arena selects his roster. Dunivant will also miss Los Angeles' CONCACAF Champions Cup second-leg quarterfinal game on March 8 at Deportivo Saprissa in Costa Rica. (AP)
