La Coruna:

A late strike from substitute Rubin Castro earned Deportivo La Coruna an exciting 3-3 draw at home to Barcelona in Spain's La Liga on Saturday. The champions looked on course for a valuable away win as they fought back from conceding a Juan Carlos Valersn goal to take a 3-1 lead thanks to Ronaldinho's double strike and a seventh goal of the season from Samuel Eto'o. Early lead Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard was hoping to see his side make a positive start, but his side fell 1-0 behind in the 10th minute when Juan Carlos Valersn reacted quickly to beat Vmctor Valdis after a shot from Pedro Munitis had cannoned against the post. Barcelona, who began in fifth place after just two wins from six games, battled back and Samuel Eto'o had a shot from 25 metres well saved by Josi Molina in the 13th minute. Eto'o was causing the Depor defence problems and a swift incisive move led to the equaliser. Ronaldinho crossed and Eto'o laid the ball off to Deco and his first time pass fell invitingly for the Cameroon striker to blast home his seventh goal in La Liga in the 41st minute. With the game in first half stoppage-time, Eto'o chased a long ball from deep in his own half and he found Ronaldinho. The World Player of the Year took his time to beat Molina with the outside of his foot for his second goal of the season. Then, with five minutes gone in the second half, Barcelona won a penalty when Molina barged into the onrushing Deco and the referee awarded a spot-kick. Ronaldinho then made it 3-1 as Molina went the wrong way. Defensive lapse Barcelona were now rampant and might well have scored a fourth goal as Ronaldinho and Eto'o tore holes in the Depor defence, but the frame of the goal denied the Barca striker. Barcelona appeared to be cruising, but were guilty of a defensive lapse which proved costly. They gave the ball away in the centre circle and Deportivo broke quickly which resulted in a superb curling shot by Munitis in the 72nd minute which set up a nail-biting climax. Depor were buoyed by that goal and pushed forward looking for an unlikely equaliser against the champions. It duly arrived four minutes from time when Uruguayan striker Sebastian Taborda thundered a shot against the post and substitute Rubin Castro reacted calmly to blast the ball into the net and secure an unlikely point for the home side.
