Margao:

Memories of Federation Cup final will be revived when Dempo will lock horns with Mohun Bagan in a highly volatile contest in the National Football League on Tuesday. The match would be a repeat of the Federation Cup final on December 5 last year at Bangalore when Dempo won the cup with 2-0 margin but lost their Brazilian striker Cristiano Junior in the process, who died on the field dealing a heavy blow to team performance. "We miss the service of a goal poacher, someone like Cristiano Junior who was our trumpcard. His absence was clearly felt in our last match against Tollygunge where we missed several goal scoring chances and are finding it hard to find a replacement," Dempo coach Armando Colaco said. "As a mark of respect for our departed colleauge, our team will wear black armbands throughout the national league," he added. Colaco said Dempo would play tomorrow's match against Bagan in the spirit of the game. "We will take them like any other team and play in the spirit of the game. Our boys have done well at home winning all their three matches and will continue to maintain the same momentum to be in the race for the title," Colaco added. (PTI)
