Despite their five regular players not available due to injuries, Federation Cup winners Dempo Sports Club is confident of putting up a good show against Al Ahed (Lebanon) in the AFC Cup Group B match to be played at Beirut on March nine. Dempo are clubbed together with Al Ahed and Al Hussein of Jordan in the group. Missing playersThe team left today for Lebanon sans their regular players Samir Nail, Stanley Colaco, Jose Colaco, Lazarus Fernandes and goalkeeper Abhijit Mondal, who are injured. Also missing out will be midfielder Johnny D'Cruz who has been sidelined because of his height, as he will not be able to "compete" against Al Ahed's tall and tough players, according to coach Armando Colaco. The Goan club is banking on the current form of their players and inspirational wins by East Bengal Club who won their matches last year. The victory will make Dempo the first Goan team to win an AFC Cup match on foreign soil, Colaco added. (PTI)
