Lisbon:

The Czech Republic became the first side to qualify for the Euro 2004 quarterfinals on Saturday following a dramatic 3-2 victory over the Netherlands. Fans from both sides crammed into a small square in the capital Lisbon to witness the match on TV, but it was the Czechs who were celebrating at the end. Their side came back from a two goal deficit to snatch a win with just three minutes to go. With six points from two Group D matches, the Czech Republic are certain to through to the knock-out stages as winners, with Germany on two points and the Dutch and Latvians on one point each. The final 'Group of Death' matches take place on June 23 with just one place left in the last eight to scramble for. (AP)
