Porto, Portugal:
CSKA Moscow held FC Porto to a 0-0 draw in a Champions League Group G match on Wednesday. The Portuguese champion dominated the encounter at the Stadium of the Dragon, but was left to rue a series of missed chances. Porto's early pressure almost paid off when Anderson escaped his marker and hit a long-range shot against the post in the 15th minute. The 18-year-old Brazilian midfielder soon broke through again, beating three defenders to shoot just wide. While striker Adriano headed over the bar three times in 10 minutes. Unable to break the stalemate, Porto replaced forward Tarik Sektioui with Helder Postiga. Anderson hit a perfect pass in the 60th to give Adriano a one-on-one with goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev - but the striker struck his left-foot shot wide. Anderson chested down a pass and hit a powerful shot to force Akinfeev into a reflex save. Substitute striker Lisandro Lopez hit a good chance over the crossbar with CSKA stuck in its own half. Lucho Gonzalez missed a clear opening at the back post in the 80th, before Lopez tested Akinfeev with a close-range shot. (AP)Topics mentioned in this article
