Villarreal claimed their first ever place in the Champions League. The team sent opponents Levante down to the second division in the Spanish Primera Liga, coming from behind to secure an emphatic 4-1 win. Uruguayan striker Diego Forlan completed a memorable night for Villarreal when he struck twice to overtake Barcelona's Samuel Eto'o and become the leading marksman in Spain with a total of 25 goals this season. Levante made a brave fightback in the second half, but their efforts were undone in the final minute when Forlan notched his second goal of the game to make it 3-1. Looking ahead Substitute Luciano Figueroa played the Uruguayan in and he blasted an unstoppable shot past Levante goalkeeper Juan Luis Mora to finish the season as La Liga's leading scorer. Forlan turned provider deep into injury time, firing a hopeful cross into the six-yard box that Figueroa diverted in to seal a 4-1 win. The final whistle blew seconds later and as Villarreal began celebrating their progress to the Champions League, Levante looked ahead to life in Spain's second division. (With AP inputs)
