Valencia:

Two late goals from Mista and Marco Di Vaio salvaged a 2-2 draw for Spanish champions Valencia on Sunday, but they dropped two valuable points at home against Athletic Bilbao. The Basque side opened the scoring with a disputed penalty in the 33rd minute from Andoni Iraola and Santiago Ezquerro made it 2-0 halfway through the second period. But Mista's close range header eleven minutes from time gave the home fans hope and on 88 minutes Valencia's Italian striker Marco Di Vaio grabbed the equaliser. However, the result did little to advance either side's ambitions - Valencia stay third but are 14 points behind leaders Barcelona, while Bilbao remain eighth, with a UEFA Cup spot just as far away.
