Nicklas Bendtner will play for Denmark in next month's friendly against Portugal and a European Championship qualifying match against Iceland.

Nicklas Bendtner will play for Denmark in next month's friendly against Portugal and a European Championship qualifying match against Iceland. The 18-year-old Birmingham City striker earned his first cap last week in a friendly against Poland, scoring the first of Denmark's two goals. The squad was named by Denmark coach Morten Olsen on Monday. It included veterans Jesper Groenkjaer, Jon Dahl Tomasson, Thomas Helveg, Thomas Gravesen, Martin Joergensen and goalkeeper Thomas Soerensen. Denmark hosts Portugal on September 1 before going to Iceland on September 6 for the Euro 2008 qualifying match.
