There's disastrous news for the English football team ahead of the World Cup. Team captain and star striker David Beckham limped off the field only 17 minutes into a Champions Cup second-leg quarter-final against Deportivo La Coruna. Beckham broke his foot and will be out for six to eight weeks. The Manchester United midfielder suffered the injury in the 3-2 quarter-final victory over Deportivo after a head-on, two-footed tackle by Argentine midfielder Aldo Pedro Duscher. This means that he will miss the remaining European and domestic challenges and there is also a big question mark over whether he will make it in time for the World Cup. England plays Sweden on June 2 in the World Cup opener. (PTI)
