Beckham not keen to leave Man United

David Beckham's father today claimed that his son wants to stick with Manchester United.

London:

David Beckham's father today claimed that his son has never shown any interest in playing in Spain or Italy and wanted to stick with his childhood idols Manchester United. Beckham's future with the English Premiership champions has been the subject of increasing speculation with first Real Madrid and more recently Barcelona and AC Milan showing their interest in the England captain. But Beckham, a United fan as a boy, has been at Old Trafford for more than a decade and his father believes that despite reports of a 30-million-pound deal involving Barcelona, his son does not want to move. "He is Manchester United through and through. They are the only club he has ever wanted for play for," said Beckham senior. "As far as I know, he wants to stay at Manchester United, but at the end of the day it's his decision." Beckham, 28, is currently in the United States on holiday with his wife Victoria and sone Brooklyn and Romeo and it is not expected that any discussions on his future will be held until he returns home. He has publicly stated his desire to stay at United after signing a new contract last summer, which runs till 2005. (PTI)
