The ailing children in a private hospital in Kolkata on Tuesday got once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet celebrity soccer players, when the visiting Bayern Munich footballers spent some time with them.

The Munich players, including Dutchman Mark Van Bommel, Argentinian Jose Ernesto Sosa and Brazilian Ze Roberto visited the Peerless hospital, interacted with young patients and wished them speedy recovery.

The delegation, during their 50-minute stay, visited different wards and handed over gifts and fruits to the children, who seemed to lap up every minute of their tryst with the soccer greats.

Hospital authorities later said the Bayern Munich team presented their jersey and a ball autographed by all the players to the hospital as memento.
