European football this year has been full of surprises. Chievo is the current leader; Manchester United is not in the top five in the English Premier League and now it is Barcelona that has been knocked out of the Spanish Cup.
Barcelona was playing a third division team that is currently ranked five places below Barcelona's reserve team. Barcelona dominated possession but just couldn't find the back of the net. No goals were scored through the 90 minutes of the game.
Then in the first minute of extra time, number 16--Kali Garrido got a deflection into the goal. It was not a phenomenal goal, but it seemed to have sealed Barcelona's fate.
As Figueres celebrated the rare win, Barcelona will have to deal with angry home fans that still haven't digested their 2-0 loss to Real Madrid last week.
