New Delhi:
Alfio Basile's men were on the offensive right from the start
Carlos Tevez had a great oppurtunity to score in the minute, but couldn't capitalise on the advantage.
Argentina, however, were not denied for long and once again it was playmaker Juan Roman Riquelme who was in the thick of things. A clever free-kick over the Mexican wall found the outstreched foot of Gabriele Heinze to put Argentina up 1-0 in the 45th minute.
That's how the score-line stayed at the end of the first half.
The second half saw more action. A brilliant through pass to Lionel Messi in the 61st minute, saw the FC Barcelona striker chipping one over Mexican keeper to take the score to 2-0.
A third came in the form of a penalty by Riquelme Five minutes later, a charge on Carlos Tevez, right on the line of the Mexican box resulted in a penalty for the Argentinians and Riquelme was quick to oblige with a simple penalty kick to take the score to 3-0 in the 66th minute.
Argentina will take on seven times Copa Champion Brazil in the Final.
