The All India Football Federation has decided to issue a show cause notice to East Bengal for the club's refusal to release players.

Kolkata:

The All India Football Federation has decided to issue a show cause notice to East Bengal for the club's refusal to release players. Disclosing this, AIFF secretary Alberto Colaco said that the club has set a very bad precedence by not releasing the players for the camp as per the Federation's directive. Colaco said that he had already discussed the matter with the AIFF president Priya Ranjan Dasmunshi and the notice would be sent tomorrow after Colaco returned to Goa. He said that East Bengal would be given sufficient time to reply to the show cause. Describing East Bengal's defiance of the AIFF directive as a serious matter, Colaco said that the Federation had announced its calendar in January itself and apprised all the clubs about it. (PTI)
