New Delhi:

Blessed with unflinching support of his skipper, Yuvraj Singh is supremely confident of retaining his place in the Indian Test side and does not find opening the innings as an "additional pressure". "I am very confident of my place in the side. I have a Test hundred," said the left-handed batsman, dismissing suggestions that there is competition for various spots in the team. Yuvraj, who has played just four Tests and is yet to open the innings, does not find the job of an opener tough and indicated that he was not averse to donning the mantle alongside Virender Sehwag. Skipper Sourav Ganguly has not only expressed his faith in the abilities of the Punjab batsman, but has also maintained that Yuvraj should be prepared to open the innings if he was to retain his place in the Test side. "I am glad I have made it to the Test team. I don't think opening puts any additional pressure on you. If the team management feels I should open, I will," said the player. Yuvraj also said he was not apprehensive about tackling the new ball. (PTI)
