India's tour of Australia was one about exciting finds. Rohit Sharma was one such find for the Indian team. He shone bright with his performances in the Indian middle order. He spoke to NDTV for this interview.

Rohit, an Australian tour is very difficult for any batsman or player. How do you feel?
Once I was selected I did feel I would do very well. I was confident. After winning we have proved to everyone that we can do well.

How difficult was it to play a bowler like Brett Lee?
Not difficult but of course he is a great bowler. I only concentrate on my batting. I don't think about who is bowling.

You talk to Sachin a lot so what type of tips do you take from him.
I talk to him a lot. He has played a lot of matches so I try to grasp as much as I can from him. He has helped me a lot in the tour.

Given that you're a young player, did so many controversies on this tour in any way affect you?
Not at all. We players don't think about these controversies. Instead we concentrate on our own game. I was just focusing on my cricket.

What was your favourite moment of the tour?
Winning the tournament for sure. Because everyone knows how important and memorable this tour has been for us. So when we won the first final we were quite sure we would win the second final too. Everyone was high on confidence.

MS Dhoni seems to have played a major role in the development of the younger players. So what type of encouragement do you get from Dhoni?
He backs the youngsters a lot and when he gave the youngsters a chance, the youngsters proved themselves. The result of that is right in front of everyone.
