Brisbane:

Australian fast bowling spearhead Brett Lee feels that the depth of their bowling attack will ensure that the absence of fiery Shaun Tait is not felt during the triangular Commonwealth Bank series.

Lee, marshalling the Australian bowling attack, picked up five for 27 in the opening match of the series against India Sunday. The match was abandoned due to rains.

"It's not nice that we haven't got Shaun to pick from," Lee said. "But we have got a great bowling squad including Ashley Noffke, who bowled very well. The talent is around and we've got heaps of depth."

Tait, who was a regular in the one-day side, took an indefinite break form all forms of cricket due to mental and physical stress. But in his absence, Lee made sure that the sting in the Australian attack was still there.

"I have bowled a lot of balls this summer and my workload has increased a fair bit," he said. "We'll have to wait and see (about a rest). I'm looking forward to playing in Sydney and we'll see what happens after that."

In the absence of both Tait and Stuart Clark, Mitchell Johnson, Nathan Bracken and debutant Noffke bowled well to skittle out India for 194 runs in 50 overs. Lee was confident Noffke, who came in for Clark, would fill in for Tait.

"It's always hard in your first game. After his first couple of overs he was rushing through a little bit and we had a chat and a laugh and he was fine. The way he's played over the past couple of seasons, he's a great find for Australian cricket, not only with the ball, but also with the bat. He's a fantastic all-rounder and can do some great things for Australia," said Lee.
