Defending champions Germany fell to a shock 0-1 defeat to Mexico in their opening World Cup 2018 match while the other big teams - Brazil, Argentina and Spain - all dropped points in the first week of the tournament. Argentina were held 1-1 by debutants Iceland, while Brazil were held to the same score by Switzerland.
