2008: Sachin Tendulkar was conferred the Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest civilian honour.

2006: Tendulkar was felicitated at the Castrol Cricketing Awards ceremony for going past Sunil Gavaskar s record of 34 centuries.

2002: Sachin Tendulkar played his 100th Test at The Oval.

2001: Tendulkar awarded the 'Maharashtra Bhushan' Award and the MCA felicitates Tendulkar with a silver bat in recognition to his feat of 10000 runs in Limited Overs Internationals.

1999: Sachin Tendulkar awarded with prestigious Padmashri Award.

1998: Tendulkar won the Coopers and Lybrand Award for 'Player of the year'.

1997: Tendulkar became the Wisden Cricketer of the Year.

1994: Instituted in 1961, the award is given annually to honour sportsmen. The award constitutes of a cash prize of Rs 50,000, a bronze statuette of Arjuna and a scroll. Sachin Tendulkar was presented with the Arjuna award in 1994.

1991: Sachin Tendulkar was awarded with the 'Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna' which is India's highest recognition in sports.
