Bangalore:
'Dravid, also known as The Wall', has already drawn many kids to cricket and now he's hoping to get them to read as well. Known to be an avid reader himself, Dravid gave his voice for the 'Read With Me' audio book series by Karadi Tales.
Publishers believe that their initiative 'Will you read with me?" will make children's reading a fun-filled experience.
"If you give good, well designed books with nice illustrations to children and also support it with audio, they would be interested in reading a lot more. It's a great learning process for the children but more importantly it's a masti experience," Narayan Parshuram, Creative Director of Karadi Tales said.
Dravid, who has played 131 Tests and 333 ODIs for India, feels that this experience will also help him learn some interesting stories for his little son Samit at home.
"My son wants to listen to more interesting stories now and this will perhaps help me. See I am new to this and I am not an expert. But if I can contribute to kids reading more, I will be very happy," said Dravid.
Rahul narrated the story of a boy who learnt maths through cricket. No doubt this exercise will help Papa Dravid at home as well.
