Tendulkar starts mild practice

Mumbai:

Sachin Tendulkar has begun his rehabilitation process after undergoing surgery for his tennis elbow in May.He was at the launch of "Sachin on Mobile" a set of mobile games and entertainment based on himself.Sachin is not part of the one-day squad, which will leave for Zimbabwe later this month but has been named in the Test team depending on his fitness. Sachin says it's still too early for him to decide on how soon he'll return to competitive cricket."I have started practicing but I have to take gradual steps. Yesterday was the first session I had and I played probably 30 - 40 balls and again the next step would be to graduate to the seasoned ball," said Sachin. The tennis elbow had kept Sachin out of action last year too when he had a torn tendon and missed part of the Test series against Australia but he did not have surgery then. Some have suggested that he returned to competitive cricket a little too soon but Sachin claims he did what he thought best."I would say I tried my best to play for the country and you're not always going to be 100 per cent fit but there are times you just have to go out and push yourself. And that is what I did. Sometimes it clicks sometimes it doesn't," said Sachin. But the bat blaster recognises that his body has taken considerable wear and tear after playing for over 15 years and this time he plans to take no chances. While its too soon for him to decide whether he'll be fit for the Tests in Zimbabwe, Sachin is determined to go exactly according to the rehab plan."I opted for surgery because the doctors and everyone felt that this was the way to go. And it is important that I look at the long term plan rather than the short goals," he said.Six mobile games have been launched by Sachin Tendulkar today and the company hopes to have six more mobile games by the end of this year. Meanwhile, the master batsman will be concentrating on getting back to being a hundred percent fit as soon as possible.
