The BCCI has sent an SOS to Indian players, who are in England now, to participate in a preparatory match ahead of the four Test series against Australia.

Kolkata:
The Cricket Board has sent an SOS to Indian players, who are in England now, to participate in a preparatory match ahead of the four Test series against formidable Australia. The Board was finalising the modalities of the match to be played between India Seniors and India 'A' in the last week of this month. "We are working on the nitty-gritties, venue etc," BCCI sources said today. The sources claimed that contrary to reports that the request for the three/four day game had come from the players, it was the board which had conceived the idea to give the players some match practice before the first Test against Australia in Bangalore from October six. "The players have not played the longer version of the game for a long time. So, we thought it would be better if we give them some match practice before they take on the mighty Aussies," they said.
