Team Australia arrive in Hyderabad

The Australian team led by Ricky Ponting arrived amid tight security to play a four-day practice match against the Board President's XI from October 2.

The Australian cricket team led by Ricky Ponting on Monday arrived amid tight security to play a four-day practice match against the Board President's XI from October 2.

The Australians were immediately taken to the team hotel after their arrival at the airport.

On the wake of recent terrorist attacks in the national capital, security measures have been beefed up for the visitors.

During the match, spectators will have to undergo thorough frisking before entering the stadium, police said.

The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) officials have also held talks with police regarding security arrangements during the match.
