Day 1 of the Sydney Test saw a brilliant spell of bowling from RP Singh, an unbeaten century from Andrew Symonds and a great knock from Brad Hogg as well.

But unfortunately, it will be remembered more for the shocking Umpiring decisions from both the ground Umpires and the third Umpire as well.

Wednesday was worst day as a second reprieve of the day for Andrew Symonds a clear stumping. But the third Umpire decided to give Symonds the benefit of the doubt. However, replays clearly showed Symonds foot was in the air.

Ricky Ponting too was given a second life, when he nicked one from Ganguly to the keeper, later he was given out to Harbhajan, another shocker; this time Ponting on the receiving end.

Earlier, when he was on 30, Symonds had also been let off after he nicked a delivery from Ishant Sharma to Dhoni.

Symonds himself admitted later that he was out and was lucky to have been let off.
