Resting all speculations, the England Cricket Board has appointed Andrew Strauss as Captain for the West Indies Tour.

London:

England opener Andrew Strauss is set to take over as captain of the side after current skipper Kevin Pietersen and coach Peter Moores resigned from their jobs earlier in the day, leaving English cricket in a sudden crisis.

As per reports, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has appointed Andrew Strauss as skipper for the upcoming West Indies tour.

Andy Flower, who worked as batting coach under Moores, has been named the interim coach for the tour.

The ECB accepted the resignations of Pietersen and Moores, who stepped down after ECB snubbed them for making their differences over the team selection issues public.

According to reports from Sky Sports, both the coach and the captain quit after their working relationship reached its breaking point ahead of the West Indies tour.

Strauss, who hit back-to-back centuries during England's recent Test tour India, has captained England before.
