Yuvraj, thanks to his hundreds in succession against England, is now the fifth Indian player to make back to back centuries in ODIs. Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman had achieved the feat previously. Yuvraj is the tenth all-rounder to post a century and bag four wickets or more in the same match. He is the third Indian after Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly to register a hundred apart from claiming four wickets. Yuvraj, for the second time in his ODI career, has bagged four wickets in an innings - his best four for six in the World Cup game against Namibia at Pietermaritzburg on February 23, 2003. India (292 for 9) recorded the best ever total at Maharani Usharaje Trust Cricket Ground, Indore, outstripping their 289 for three against England two years ago. Gautam Gambhir became the first batsman this year to make 1000 runs in ODIs - 1065 at an average of 48.40, including three centuries and seven half-centuries. Dhoni is the second player to make 1,000 runs this year - 1009 at an average of 59.35, including one hundred and seven fifties. Dhoni is now the first wicketkeeper to have made 1,000 runs or more in two calendar years in succession - 2007 and 2008. Gambhir has registered two successive fifties against England for the first time. Gambhir's third half-century against England is his 13th in ODIs. Gambhir's brilliant innings of 70 off 76 balls is his best score against England, beating his 51 (recorded twice) at Leeds last year and at Rajkot in the first game of the 2008-09 series. Yuvraj is the second player to register 1,000 runs in India-England ODIs - 1060 at an average of 55.78. Sachin Tendulkar is still the leading run-scorer - 1274 at an average of 42.46, including one century in 34 matches. Besides becoming the first batsman to make three centuries in India-England series, Yuvraj became the fourth Indian to post 10 or more hundreds in ODIs, joining Tendulkar (42), Ganguly (22) and Dravid (12). Yuvraj became the first batsman to register a hundred at this venue. Stuart Broad (4/55) has produced his best bowling figures away from home - his career-best being five for 23 against South Africa at Trent Bridge on August 26, 2008 and four for 51 against India at Old Trafford on August 30,2007. Gambhir and Yuvraj put on 134 for the fourth wicket -the best ever partnership for this wicket-position at this venue, eclipsing 55-run stand between England's Kevin Pietersen and Paul Collingwood against India on April 15, 2006. Overall, the aforesaid partnership is the second best at this venue, next only to the 166 between India's Robin Uthappa and Rahul Dravid against England on April 15, 2006. Yusuf Pathan registered his career-best score - his maiden fifty in ODIs. His previous highest was 25 against Pakistan at Dhaka on June 14, 2008. Owais Shah posted his seventh half-century in ODIs - his first against India.
