Stage set for IPL bidding

The BCCI's Twenty20 foray, the Indian Premier League is due to start in April. Many high-profile bidders are in the race to buy its eight teams.

Stage set for IPL bidding

The BCCI's Twenty20 foray, the Indian Premier League is due to start in April.

But there's already tremendous interest in it. Many high-profile bidders are in the race to buy its eight teams, including Shah Rukh Khan.

They include Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chilli Entertainment company, Vijay Mallya, the Ambani brothers, construction biggies DLF and GMR and Hero Honda's Pawan Munjal.

According to the BCCI rules, the bidders have to bid for a specific city team.

However, they can bid for more than one team. All 13 bidders have to deposit $5 million with their bids.

The bidding process will take place in Mumbai on Thursday.
