Sri Lanka beat hosts Pakistan by 119 runs to win the Paktel tri-series in Lahore. Sri Lanka batted first to make 287 runs with wicket-keeper batsman Kumara Sangakkara top scoring with 68. Then Sanath Jayasuriya did the damage with a five-wicket haul that saw Pakistan innings crumble for 168 runs in 38 overs. Sri Lankan captain Marvan Atapattu said that his team had been extra motivated after their chief selector lashed out earlier this week saying that the team management was against trying out younger players. Sri Lanka had earlier won the Asia Cup at home beating India in the final.
