Well that is all that we have for today. Do join us for the second ODI on Tuesday, 12th of November at the same venue. We do hope that we are able to get a full game then. For now, it is adios and cheers from us!
So the news from the ground is that the MATCH HAS BEEN OFFICIALLY CALLED OFF. New Zealand would have had a stiff chase on their hands but rain unfortunately interrupted proceedings. Not much of action in the second innings. New Zealand lost the solitary wicket of Anton Devcich to an absolute peach from Malinga.
Update 2050 - Still raining at Hambantota, the cut off time for the game to begin is 2012 IST. Stay tuned for further updates.
Update 1940 IST - It is still drizzling at the ground and the covers are on. If the innings goes past 20 overs, the D/L par scores for NZ will be 74/0, 87/1, 102/2, 122/3, 145/4, 172/5.
Uh oh! Here it comes! What started as a drizzle has now developed into a heavy shower. The ground staff have hurried onto the ground and the players are sprinting off the field. We only hope that it stops soon. Remember, to get a game, we need to complete 20 overs.
