The South African team is presented the trophy! That's it from us then, thanks for joining in! Good bye!
Faf du Plessis (South African captain)- Man of the Match. Says it's a great achievement by the team. Admits there were times Pakistan did well and they bowled well. Adds as a bowling unit South Africa have progressed. They won't stop and looking forward to the series again against Pakistan. Says thanks to the golfers who came to watch South Africa.
Mohammad Hafeez (Pakistan captain) - Says he his team couldn't handle the pressure well and applauds South Africa for their performance. He is upset with his middle order and lower middle order as they are not performing. Admits they are not finishing off very well. Maqsood looks positive. Tells they are not sure about Irfan as he was not looking comfortable.
Pakistan have been thoroughly outplayed on this tour. They started the tour with a resounding win in the first Test but then, everything went downhill. On one hand, the Proteas kept getting better and better while on the other hand, Pakistan kept plummeting further. They now head to South Africa knowing that unless there is an upheaval of some sorts in the batting, they don't stand a chance and that is a rude awakening for them. One can only hope that they get better.
South Africa will take a lot of positive from this tour. The batting was questionable in the early past of the series but as the series progressed, they just kept getting better and better. A drawn Test series, a 4-1 mauling in the ODIs and a 2-0 whitewash in the T20Is, indeed a successful tour for the Proteas.
So the question is, is Pakistan the new South Africa? By virtue of today's win, South Africa now move up to no. 2 in the T20I rankings while Pakistan slip to no.4.
Another thrilling finish to this game with Pakistan doing what they do best, pulling up another defeat from the jaws of victory, the way only they can! Needing 151 runs to win, the openers started briskly keeping up with the required rate. Shehzad fell to a pull and Jamshed got out to a poor shot. The skipper Hafeez's nightmare with the bat continued as he fell to a howler of a decision. Maqsood looked impressive yet again as he steadied the ship after a mini-collapse but then fell to a brilliant catch. Imran Tahir struck back to back to put the pressure back on the Pakistanis. Afridi threatened in the end with some big-hitting but the tendency to throw it away came back to haunt them once again.
