Shahid Afridi for his brilliant bowling display has been adjudged the Man of the Match.
The South African batting had no answer to the spinners as they fell one by one to the guile of Ajmal and Afridi. They did very well with the ball to restrict Pakistan to a moderate total but themselves failed miserably with the bat as they were bowled out for a meagre 143. The result means that the series is locked at one apiece and with three matches to go, it is difficult to call which side holds the advantage.
What a magnificent comeback by Pakistan after their massive disappointment 48 hours back. Batting first on a good wicket, they made a below par total of 209. Their bowling looked a class apart as the spinners went on a rampage. Afridi was the pick of the bowlers with three important wickets. Ajmal and Hafeez did a brilliant job tying one end up and allowing Afridi to attack from the other end. Mohammad Irfan was superb too with his pace and bounce.
Shahid Afridi to Imran Tahir
OUT! All over! Drifting into the middle stump that spins sharply, Tahir is beaten in the flight and is drawn forward, misses it and Akmal does the rest to stump him out. The umpire goes upstairs for a referral and the decision is pretty clear. Tahir is short of his crease and that means PAKISTAN WIN BY 66 RUNS.
Drifted into middle, Tahir comes forward and gets a solid block.
Shahid Afridi to Ryan McLaren
Knocks it on the leg side and picks up a single.
Off spinner on off, McLaren leans forward and pats it to covers.
Afridi back on.
Saeed Ajmal to Imran Tahir
Tahir has played that off the front foot and into the ground.
Flighted on middle, Tahir comes forward and defends it solidly.
Leans forward and pats it back to the bowler.
Tahir gets an inside edge and the ball hits him on the pads.
Saeed Ajmal to Ryan McLaren
Flicked through mid-wicket for a single.
McLaren looks to reverse sweep but ends up missing it and the ball hits the back leg. The fielding side are asking the question but the umpire isn't interested in the appeal.
Mohammad Irfan to Imran Tahir
Looks to guide it down to third man but misses the line of the ball.
Mohammad Irfan to Ryan McLaren
Worked down the leg side for a single.
NO BALL! A beamer above the waist that has been guided down to third man for a single. If he bowls one more of those, he'll be taken out of the attack.
Gets it down to third man off the leading edge for a single.
Very full on middle, hit back to the bowler.
