William Porterfield has been handed over the World Cricket League Championship trophy. And along with his team-mates, there is a mild celebration going on. Excellent Ireland, they won the competition by losing just one match out of 14. Totally dominant and that will be our cue from the commentary desk. Until next time, farewell!
Scotland were already out of the automatic qualification chances and will now rely on the matches between U.A.E and Namibia and the Afghanistan-Kenya clash to happen on the 27th, 29th September and on 2nd and 4th October, 2013 respectively. While Afghanistan and Scotland are together on 15 points, U.A.E are just lagging behind on 14 points.
A very well orchestrated win for Ireland at their home ground and that makes it 2 in 2 and strengthens their hold on top of the table comfortably. Scotland were in contention for the 1st ODI after posting 223 but this time around, Ireland had nothing of the 'shiver down the spine in a low-scoring chase' and made sure that Scotland were pretty much thrown out of the equation for throughout the innings.
