That's all we have from this match. We look forward to your company on Saturday for the seventh ODI. Do tune in at 1330 IST to catch all the action. Until then, on behalf of the scoring and commentary team, it's good bye and cheers!!!
Virat Kohli is the unanimous choice for the Man of the Match award! Says that the openers laid a strong platform. Adds that he was connecting the ball well and took his chances. Also says that the plan towards the end was to see off Johnson and they took calculative risks against him. Further says that he can't wait to go to Bangalore and he loves batting there.
It was a batting paradise! More than 700 runs scored and the series is now leveled 2-2. The caravan now moves to Bangalore for the final ODI where the decider will be played and as far as we know, the M Chinnaswamy Stadium is yet another high scoring venue. Plenty of action and runs in store!
Chasing 351 was a tough task on any wicket, but the Indian openers once again laid a strong platform and added 178 for the opening wicket. Shikhar Dhawan notched up his first ODI hundred in India and was simply superb. When Kohli joined forces with him, the asking run-rate was over 8 but both these batsmen batted with top confidence and went on to do their job professionally. Australia did manage to scare India a bit by removing Raina and Yuvraj in a single over but then Dhoni and Kohli remained calm and finished the job.
From rains to the runs! What a terrific run chase once again by India! There is no target enough in front of this kind of batting line-up and once again they proved it tonight. Virat Kohli, a name you will hear for many years to come. This young lad once again showed his calm composure under pressure and scripted one of the brilliant run chases. Also his exceptional record that whenever he scores a century while chasing, India always win remains intact.
James Faulkner to MS Dhoni
India win by 6 wickets! A fuller length delivery on off, Dhoni drills it down to mid off where the fielder only manages to stop it partially and parries it to mid on. They take a couple to register the victory. Kohli raises his arms in triumph, while Dhoni quietly takes out a stump as a souvenir. What a run chase! Phew, what a brilliant run chase!
FOUR! Faulkner serves a full toss outside off, Dhoni slaps it past point for a boundary. 2 more needed now!
Play and a miss! Full and angling away from the batsman, around off, Dhoni tries for a big shot over covers but misses. 6 needed off 5!
James Faulkner to bowl the last over. 6 needed off 6!
Shane Watson to Virat Kohli
Fuller length ball on middle, Kohli hits it off the inside half of the bat through square leg for a couple.
FOUR! I don't have any more adjectives left to describe this batsman. Kohli fetches a full ball from outside off and hammers it over mid-wicket for a boundary.
Shane Watson to MS Dhoni
Slower ball yorker, in the blockhole, Dhoni digs it out to point for one.
Pushes a full ball to covers for a single. A direct hit at the bowler's end, the ball ricochets and they collect another run.
Clever slower delivery, full on middle at 120.2 kph, Kohli inside edges it onto his pads and they cross for a run.
FOUR! Kohli is on fire, completely unstoppable! Another bottom-handed flick across the line and it whizzed through the gap at mid-wicket for a boundary. The fielder in the deep had no chance.
Shane Watson is back on.
Turns it in the gap at mid-wicket and takes a couple. 15 runs off the over!
James Faulkner to Virat Kohli
Pushed to the cover region by the batsman. One run added to the total.
17th ODI hundred for Virat Kohli, 11th while chasing!
FOUR! Magnificent knock! Take a bow, young man! He's really a miracle happened to India! Good length delivery outside off, Kohli pushes inside the line and runs it down to third man off the outside edge. Raises his arms in celebration. Remember, whenever he strokes a hundred while chasing, India win!
