Corey Anderson is given the Man of the Match for his two wickets and a couple of outstanding catches. That's all we have from this match, we look forward to your company tomorrow. Good bye and cheers!!!
Unfortunately folks, the game has been CALLED OFF and New Zealand win it by 9 runs on D/L method. The Kiwis started their chase positively and in spite of losing Guptill, they kept on scoring runs at a rapid rate. The New Zealanders will be delighted to win this rain-truncated match and their campaign is off to a good start.
Rain returned when the umpires were supposed to inspect the conditions and the covers are back on. The cut off time is fast approaching and we will get another update soon.
The rain has stopped for now and the groundsmen are at work. There is an inspection scheduled for 2200 IST. Stay tuned...
IT'S RAINING NOW! And the umpires are forced to take the players off the field. New Zealand at the moment are ahead on the D/L calculation. Stay tuned for latest updates...
Chris Jordan to Kane Williamson
Defends it with soft hands to point and crosses for a quick single.
FOUR! Sublime! Fullish ball on middle and off, Williamson leans across and flicks it with panache through wide mid on for a good looking boundary.
Lightening and thundering going on and it's dangerous to stay out there in the middle. But the match officials have decided to wait and watch. Jordan into the attack...
Stuart Broad to Brendon McCullum
SIX! Whacked away! Broad bowls a good length delivery on middle, McCullum makes a move down the track and towers it over the bowler's head for a biggie.
Defended off the front foot by the batsman presenting the full face of the bat.
Stuart Broad was about to deliver but McCullum pulled out as there was a cracking sound of thunder. The groundsmen are getting ready with the covers. Oh dear, we don't want D/L to take part in this match. Well, the umpires have decided to carry on though, just two more balls left to constitute a game.
FOUR! Edgy! Length delivery outside off, McCullum flashes his blade through the line and edges it down to third man.
SIX! Massive hit! That was hit with tremendous power. Broad angles in a full length ball on middle, McCullum shimmies down the track and smokes it high and handsome over mid-wicket.
Good length delivery outside off, McCullum pushes inside the line and misses.
Fullish ball on off, pushed off the front foot to covers.
Jade Dernbach to Kane Williamson
Shows the full face of the bat and defends the ball off the back foot.
Goes on his toes and turns it off his hips through square leg for a single.
Terrific yorker, right in the blockhole, Williamson picks it late but does well eventually to keep it out.
Brendon McCullum is the new batsman.
Jade Dernbach to Martin Guptill
OUT! Gone! Dernbach goes short with his length and takes the batsman by surprise. Guptill takes it on and aims to pull it across the line over mid-wicket. But it takes the top edge and balloons in the air for Jordan to grab a simple catch inside the ring.
