Nadeem Ahmed is named the Man of the Match. That's all we have for you today. Join us back tomorrow for all the non-stop action. Till then, farewell!
The chase was first kicked off by blistering strokes from Irfan Ahmed but then later the Bangladeshi spinners triggered a collapse. Being 50 for 5, Munir Dar then took the reins and along with little support from Nizakat and Haseeb made sure that Hong Kong kept the fight going on. The match went till the last over and eventually, Amjad's biggie sealed off the victory.
What a victory! Hong Kong first had Bangladesh on the mat, riding on with Nadeem Ahmed's splendid 4-wicket haul and was well supported by leggie Nizakat Khan as well. They bowled out the home side for a mere 108.
Abdur Razzak to
SIX! Amjad finishes it off by towering a flat ball over wide long off and HONG KONG WIN BY 2 WICKETS! What an emphatic win for Hong Kong and even though it remains inconsequential in terms of the tournament, it's still a huge achievement to beat Bangladesh. Amjad and Ahmed hug each other and Munid Dar in the dug-out cannot hid his emotions by kissing the turf.
Once again plays he plays inside-out through covers for a couple of runs. SCORES ARE LEVELLED!
A flighted delivery outside off, it's been lifted neatly over covers for a couple of runs. 3 needed 4 balls!
A fuller ball on middle, chipped down the ground to long on for one. 5 needed off 5 balls!
Abdur Razzak to bowl the final over. The crowd has gone a bit silent but they know that their side are in with a chance now.
Sabbir Rahman to
Works a full ball away towards mid-wicket to end the over. 6 needed off 6 balls!
Flat and quick, Amjad taps it away past covers and does well to come back for two.
A full ball around off, driven through mid off for a single.
Nadeem Ahmed walks in.
OUT! Gets his man this time! Another quicker leggie which skids off the surface, Afzal once again sat for the slog across the line but ends up hearing the rattle of timber. Hong Kong need 9 off 9 now.
Narrowly misses the leg stump! A flat leg-spinner, skids on and beats the flashing blade of Afzal, also the leg stump.
A short, quick ball, Afzal fails to get bat on that.
Flatter on off, Amjad defends it.
Haseeb Amjad walks in.
Abdur Razzak to Munir Dar
OUT! Plumb in front! A flighted delivery on off, Dar gets right across to try and flick it but is hit on the pads. There is a big shout for LBW and it's considered almost instantaneously. The set batsman is dismissed.
Quicker down the leg side, worked away fine towards short fine leg. There is a quick throw at the striker's end and maybe a direct hit would have had Munir struggling.
Flat on middle, it's been worked away towards mid-wicket.
