Razzaq bowls career-best against Sri Lanka

Medium fast bowler Abdul Razzaq took his career best figures of 5 for 35, to help bowl out Sri Lanka for 208 in the 2nd test in Karachi.

Karachi: Medium fast bowler Abdul Razzaq took his career best figures of 5 for 35, to help bowl out Sri Lanka for 208 in the 2nd test in Karachi. Sri Lanka who won the first test, suffered a dramatic collapse. They were at 66 for no loss at one stage, after having being put into bat first. Romesh Kaluwitharan was the top scorer for the Lankans with 54, while Marvan Atapattu made 44. Team support Razzaq was well supported by rookie seamer Riaz Afridi (2-42) and leg-spinner Dansh Kaneria (3-72) after Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Sami were ruled out from the match due to injuries. Akhtar has a sore shouder, while Sami pulled a groin muscle in Pakistan's massive loss of 201 runs in the first Test at Faisalabad last Sunday. After amassing four wickets for just 22 runs, Razzaq returned to bowl the last over of the day and wrapped up the Sri Lankan first innings when Ranagna Herath (12) was caught behind. Razzaq broke the Sri Lankn middle-order batting lineup with two wickets each in the afternoon sessions after captain Inzamam-ul-Haq won the toss and elected to field first. (with AP inputs)
