Kolkata:
The 24-year-old all-rounder hoped that his talent would get noticed in the second edition of the IPL.
"Everybody knows how successful IPL was last time. More than that the players got noticed and were hugely benefited. I hope it will do magic for me also. Playing for India is a long term goal. For me, I've to utilise my this opportunity as I have a chance to showcase my talent at a broader platform," Rana, who represented North Zone for two seasons, said.
"My style of play suits Twenty20 format. I am confident of a good show for the Knight Riders. The three-day camp has been a huge learning experience for me. I never thought that I will bat, bowl in front of Sourav Ganguly, John Buchanan. It was huge. I will try to make the best use of this opportunity," he added.
Rana is a regular for Haryana in Ranji Trophy since 2004-05, but his best came when Haryana played the Elite League with the all-rounder scoring 499 runs and claiming 23 wickets from six matches.
"However my best so far has been my 121 and 99 in both innings against Baroda who played with their full strength attack which included Zaheer Khan.
"Last season, I also scored a memorable century against UP with their attack boasting RP Singh, Piyush Chawla. We also won that match by an innings," said Rana, who is a fan of Virender Sehwag.
A middle-order batsman Rana scored 108 runs from five Ranji Trophy Plate matches this season. The medium fast bowler also scalped 18 wickets, with the best figure of five for 32.
