Light rain delayed the start of the second one-day international between England and New Zealand at Edgbaston on Wednesday.

Birmingham, England:

Rain delayed the scheduled 10:45am local time (0945GMT) start in the second one-day international between England and New Zealand at Edgbaston on Wednesday.

New Zealand, who announced their team on Tuesday, were due to hand a one-day international debut to South Africa-born all-rounder Grant Elliott after dropping out-of-form batsman James Marshall.

England lead the five-match series 1-0 after a convincing 114-run victory at the Riverside on Sunday, having previously triumphed by nine wickets in Friday's lone Twenty20 international at Old Trafford.

They also won the preceding three-match Test series against New Zealand 2-0.
