Bollywood star Preity Zinta made a surprise visit to the McClean park, moments before the toss in the first ODI between India and New Zealand on Tuesday.

The Kings XI Punjab, an IPL franchisee co-owned by Zinta, is in New Zealand at the invitation of the New Zealand government.

"I have been invited by the New Zealand Prime Minister and will be attending the official function hosted for the Indian team on March 5 at Wellington," said Preity, clad in faded blue jeans and a blood-red top.

Zinta said she had briefly met Yuvraj Singh, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Irfan Pathan before the start of the match and wished them well.

"I met Yuvraj, Dhoni and Irfan briefly. Nothing much," said the movie star.

Zinta said she was disappointed with the results in the T20 series, which India lost 0-2 but hoped India would do very well in the one-dayers.

Talking about fitness Brett Lee, who is a contracted player with her IPL team, Preity said, "I have heard he has had a surgery. Let's see how it goes."
