PM congratulates Team India

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today said "it is a victory of teamwork, determination and a will to win".

New Delhi: Congratulating the Indian cricket team on winning the cricket series against Pakistan, Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today said "it is a victory of teamwork, determination and a will to win". In a message, the Prime Minister also congratulated the people of Pakistan, especially the spectators and players for display of "unique warmth and sportsmanship" in all the matches, which made the series "truly historic and memorable". "The Indian team deserves all the credit for their spectacular display in all departments of the game which enabled them to win both the One-day as well as the test series. It is a victory of teamwork, determination and a will to win," he said. The Prime Minister had a special word of praise for the tenacious double century of Rahul Dravid who anchored the Indian innings and provided a strong foundation for a comprehensive win. He also lauded the organisers of both the sides for planning and executing the series in a "flawless manner". (PTI)
