Best known for his ability to finish the innings, Johann Louw is a talented right-arm seamer from South Africa. He made his first-class debut in the 2000/01 season.
Louw established a solid place for himself in county cricket, playing majorly for Northamptonshire, and later had a satisfying stint with Middlesex in 2006. He has been a prolific run-scorer and a wicket-taking bowler in all formats, but proved his worth in the one-day arena. Louw, like most South Africans, had a fruitful experience in county cricket, which subsequently led to his maiden international call-up in an ODI against Kenya in 2008. A few days later, he also made his T20I debut against Bangladesh.
Louw also plies his trade for the Cape Cobras in South Africa's domestic circuit.
