Perth: Despite early setbacks, Australia are certainly in the drivers seat after the first day of the first Test match against Pakistan at Perth. After being sent into bat, Australia amassed 357 runs by the end of the day's play. The highlight, of course, was another wonderful century from Justin Langer, who was unbeaten on 181 at stumps. Adam Gilchrist made 69 runs before falling to Abdul Razzaq. The pick of the bowlers was Rawalpindi Express Shoaib Akhtar, who picked up four wickets for 89 runs.
