PCB panel begins probe into players' injuries
A four-member PCB medical commission today began its inquiry into the spate of injuries to key Pakistan players in the recent cricket series against India.

Karachi: A four-member PCB medical commission today began its inquiry into the spate of injuries to key Pakistan players in the recent cricket series against India. The commission will look into the injuries sustained by the players and decide whether those were genuine or not. The first one to be interviewed by the panel was fast bowler Umar Gul. The panel will interview pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar on Tuesday. Others who would depose before the commission are fast bowler Mohammded Sami and wicketkeeper Moin Khan. Two other players have also been summoned but will be unable to appear before the commission as they have already left for England to play county cricket. Shoaib in the dock Shoaib has to justify his fitness problems, which has been a topic of hot debate ever since Pakistan's defeat in the Rawalpindi decider by an innings. Shoaib, who is in Mumbai for the past one week to shoot for a commercial, is scheduled to return to Pakistan on Monday and would appear before the commission the following day. If found guilty, he faces a ban and fine. (PTI)
