London:

English county side Middlesex, have signed India's Irfan Pathan as a substitute overseas player for the injured Nantie Hayward. South African Hayward is expected to be out of action for the next six weeks with a groin injury. The spell in England could do Pathan a world of good at the moment, especially considering the fact that Baroda speedster was dropped from the India team for the final three one day internationals vs Pakistan. Pathan, however, has been selected among the probables for the ICC super series that is to be held in Australia in October.
