New Delhi: In a new twist to the controversy over the presence of a Pakistani masseur with the Indian cricket team, its manager to the Asia Cup demanded a probe into the matter. "I am ready to face any inquiry and am ready to face any consequences if I am held responsible. But I will not allow any one to make me a scapegoat," said M N Dorai Rajan. Karachi-based masseur Sohail Ahmed spent close to two weeks with the team in a Colombo hotel. He also travelled with the players in the team bus before being asked to leave by the Indian Cricket Board. Dorai Rajan came under fire from BCCI secretary S K Nair, who pulled him up for allowing an unauthorised person inside the players' dressing room. "His action was uncalled for," said Dorai Rajan and referred to Nair's statement blaming the manager for the whole episode. The manager said that he first saw Sohail with the players during a practice match soon after the side's arrival in Sri Lanka. He came to know that he was staying in the team hotel only three or four days later. He did not notice anything objectionable in Sohail's activities through out his stay with the team. (PTI)
