New Delhi: Pakistan have closed the gap with India in the latest LG-ICC Test cricket rankings following their 2-0 series win against England. Pakistan, who were seventh on the rankings list, jumped three spots up with 103 points, ahead of South Africa, New Zealand and Sri Lanka. They are just nine points behind third-placed India. Incidentally, Pakistan's next test series will be against India in January. Sri Lanka are currently in seventh place and if they win the remaining two tests, could draw level with India in the rankings. Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Yousuf and Shoaib Akhtar have moved up in the individual rankings. Inzamam is joint third in the LG ICC Player Rankings for batsmen alongside Australia's Ricky Ponting and behind only South Africa's Jacques Kallis (the ICC Test Player of the Year) and Brian Lara of the West Indies.
